Hey Houston, How Are You Celebrating 713 Day?

5 Ways to Celebrate your H-Town Pride Today!

By Macaroni KID Downtown Houston - Pearland July 6, 2025

It has been 78 years since 713 was among the first four area codes assigned to serve the Houston area. While I wasn’t able to find exactly when 713 Day started, I can say, there are still many Houstonians that don’t know it exists!

With less 713 events taking place this year compared to last year, here’s some Houston themed fun fit for a 713 family day.

⚾️  Almost nothing shows city pride like repping your team and heading to a ball game with the kiddos - July 13th’s Lone Star Series, Astros play our state rival Texas Rangers. Kids can run the bases on this day.

🛴  Take an early evening stroll, better yet, rent some scooters and specifically zig zag the paths of Buffalo Bayou Park along Allen Parkway. You can scoot around and marvel at your skyline, be sure to give it the chef’s kiss.

❤️  As a proud Houstonian, consider giving back to your community by volunteering on 713 day! Check out the We Love Houston event taking place at Houston Food Bank.

⭐️  Neighborhood Mural Walks are very Houston. Urban, artistic, expressive and just down right cool are the murals all around town celebrating H-Town culture, starting in EaDo. And let us also share, there’s a new Beyonce mural at 2300 Pierce St!

🍔  Preceding the use of a #713day hashtag is a visit to one of my fave places to grab a smashburger at NONE other than the on brand Bodega Burger! All things 713 for a fun dinner outing with the family. Take all the pics.

⭐️ Be sure to check our calendar frequently for the 713 Day events that will trickle in marking this local celebration 🤠
